We moved into the warehouse in 2004 when we were looking for permanent space. Since land and rental property is so expensive in Bucks County, we had to get a little creative in our approach.  We settled on this space for a few reasons:

  1. It allowed us to use our space in atypical ways.  We wanted to be able to host art shows, concerts, coffeehouses and other community events. We figured if we had a space that didn’t look like a church and smell like a church than these events would have a better chance to be successful.
  2. The space is a microcosm of our community. It’s a bit ugly on the outside, but its actually really warm and inviting on the inside.
  3. The price was right. Warehouse space just doesn’t cost as much as a huge building that is a storefront or a big building settled in on a large piece of property. While there are many advantages to a large typical-church-looking building our space allows us to keep our costs low so we are not investing tons of money  into the cost of building and maintaining a building. This gives us flexibility in how we use our finances.
